ViftChat
Early access

Your security is not a feature. It's the foundation.

ViftChat is built from the ground up with encryption, European hosting, and respect for your privacy.

How the encryption works

1

The message is encrypted on your phone using the Signal Protocol before it leaves your device.

2

The encrypted message is sent to our server. The server cannot read it.

3

The message is delivered to the receiver and decrypted on their phone.

Keys are generated and stored exclusively on your device. The server stores only data it cannot understand. Not even we can read your messages — even if someone asked us to.

Your data stays in Europe

All ViftChat servers are located in the EU. Your messages, files, and metadata never leave European soil.

We are a Danish company. We are governed by European law — GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, and Danish data protection law. Not the Cloud Act. Not FISA. Not the Patriot Act.

This means: No foreign authority can demand access to your data through our servers.

What we never do

  • We never sell your data. To anyone. Ever.
  • We never show ads in the app.
  • We never track your behavior or build profiles about you.
  • We never scan your messages — not for ads, AI training, or "safety."
  • We never share your contacts with third parties.
  • We never use algorithms to decide what you see.
  • We never upload your phone book to our servers.

Your data. Your control.

You own your data. You can always:

  • See exactly what data we have about you
  • Export all your data in a standard format
  • Delete your account permanently — all data is removed completely

We comply with GDPR fully. You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. No fine print.

Not all chat apps are created equal

Many popular chat apps are built by American companies, governed by American law. Your data may be stored in the US, accessible to foreign authorities, or used to train AI models.

ViftChat is different. We're built in Denmark, hosted in Europe, and funded by users — not by advertisers. We have no incentive to collect, sell, or exploit your data. Our business model is simple: We build a good product, and those who want to pay for extra features.
